Our Brief History
Schindler’s Garage opened its doors in 1972, but the story starts about seven years earlier when Jerome and Bobby Schindler opened Schindler’s Service Station based on their love of racing and working on cars.
That venture didn’t last, and Jerome decided to open his own shop. In that decision, Schindler’s Garage was born.
While all the brothers worked in the shop through the years, his youngest brother, Joe, was the only one to stay with him, and in 1979 when Jerome decided to run for elected office, Joe took over the day-to-day operations of the shop.
Joe ran the shop on his own until 2005, when his son came aboard, and in 2009, Joe’s son, also named Joe, took over the shop’s day-to-day operations.
Schindler’s Garage has been a staple in the community, and in those 50-plus years, we have built a relationship with those in the community based on running an honest and transparent shop.

Our Process
When you drop your car off with us, we’ll ask you what’s going on with your vehicle and try to get as much information as we can. We’ll also walk around your car with you and talk more about what’s going on with your car.
We’ll diagnose your vehicle, work up a quote and call for approval on the work. If there’s a problem getting parts or something else, we’ll call you and let you know. Once the work is done, we’ll give you a call.
You can pay over the phone or stop by the shop to make your payment. We can also put your keys in the night drop box if you need us to!
